Lagoon

I went back to work at Lagoons first aid department again this year for my 6th year there. Since I get into the park free I decided to get Ariane and Lucy season passes this year and it was worth it. We've had a really good time together.

I have noticed that there are several rides that have a dragon theme or a dragon in them like...

Puff the Dragon, a roller coaster for kids and parents

The Jumping Dragon, a ride that spins around frontwards and backwards and is also for adults and kids

There is dragon car on the Scallywags ride, a ride that spins around and the kids can make the car go up and down, unfortunately adults cannot ride this with their kids

The Carousel has a dragon on it as well, Lucy is not happy to be getting off this ride and of course you can ride this with your kids.

The Dragon Fly may be bit of stretch here since it's an insect not so much an actual dragon but it dose have dragon in its name. It is a swing ride that also spins around and you can ride it with your kids to.

And finally it's Coleuses the Fire Dragon. Lucy isn't tall enough for this nor dose she have the back bone for it yet but hopefully some day we will ride it together.

Lucy is also doing very well training in Lagoons Air Force

Like the Sky Fighter

The Red Baron planes

And the Helicopters.
All of which do the same thing, spin around and go up and down.

Hopefully we can increase her training in the future by riding the Paratroopers, Flying Aces and even the Rocket, though she may have to do that last one solo since I hate it.

Day At The Beach

So it wasn’t really a whole day, nor was it an actual beach. Ariane, Lucy and I went and spent a couple of hours at Lagoon-A-Beach, Lagoon’s water park, last week. They have a kids area with some small water slides and a lazy river to float along.

At first Lucy seemed a little skittish of the water. After a few rides down some water slides and some time to splash around in the water she became quite accustomed to it and really had a good time.

Halloween 2009

Lucy had a lot of fun this October with Halloween. We did a lot of fun things and got plenty of candy.

We made it out to Firghtmares at Lagoon for one last time this year, we went on a night when Aunt Alison was working so we could see her to. Lucy had a great time riding rides, going to the kids spook alley and watching the "Monster Mash" show. She even got to have her picture taken with the cast which she thought was great. Funny story about this. Lucy and I were standing there watching the show when one of my supervisors spotted me and came up to me and started talking with us. He asked how I liked the show and I made some joke about wanting Catwomans number. He then went up to her and the rest of the female cast asked them if they were interested in going out with me. They were all under 20 so a little young for me, but I was thoroughly embarrassed by the whole thing.

Lucy did pumpkin carving with myself, Grandpa and Aunt Alison

Of course we also went Trick-or-Treating. Lucy went as a skeleton. We stayed out in the neighborhood for over an hour. Her bucket got to heavy for her to carry so she had me carry it. This idea that the whole neighborhood is handing out candy was wonderful to her, I like it to since I go through I pick out what I want from her stash. She liked it so much she asked the next night if we could go Trick-or-Treating

Lagoon 2

Here are some pics from the second trip to Lagoon with Lucy.

The "Moon Raker"

"Bulgy the Whale" where she could hardly wait to get on the ride.

Us on the "Contiki"

Her favorite ride was the cars. She cried when the ride operator took her out. I guess we'll just have to go back another time and ride again.

Non-Virgin Lagoon Day

We recently held the 4th annual "Non-Virgin Lagoon Day".

This all started about 4 years ago when Lariann and myself went to lagoon with some of our married friends. I'm not sure who first started calling it "Non-Virgin Lagoon Day" (probably Marc Lunt) but we go to lagoon and the name has stuck.

It's not as exclusive as you might think. My brother Tyler has brought several dates to Non-Virgin Lagoon day. My sister Alison was set up on a blind date one time and brought our cousin Sarah with her another time. Greg took his then girl friend now wife Stacy before she went on her mission.

Lets have a look at this years participants.

Here's my cute little wife Lariann and my self on the space scrambler and on Odysea lagoons new ride. It's kind of like the dumbo ride at disney land only you get a little wet.

My brother Tyler and his lovely wife Brooke on the turn of the century and at wicked. Lariann decided not to ride rattle snake rapids so Tyler, Brooke and I did.

Finally here is my long time friend Marc Lunt with his beautiful wife Hali (pronounced Holly). They are riding the flying aces and also on odysea.

It was another successful Non-virgin Lagoon Day. I would also like to take this time to thank our corporate sponsors they really help make Non-Virgin Lagoon Day everything it can be.

Lagoon's Frightmares

Here are some great shots from Frightmares at Lagoon featuring myself, my sister Alison, and our favorite co-worker Cole Brock. Frightmares is truly our favorite time of the year as you can probably tell. This is the first year we drank directly from the ICEE machine. You might want to avoid getting those at the Funhouse food stand if you're there.
