New Partner

I have a new partner. NO I'm not gay, I have a new partner on the ambulance in Salt Lake City.

Please welcome Brad Zwahlen. He's out of Orem Utah. We were hired at the same time last year and went through training together. We've wanted to work together for a while so when his partner left to go be shift lead I took his open slot. Brad's a funny guy we try to spend as much time as possible playing video games and watching movies. Apperently Brad has an unlimited supply of movies at home, because every day he comes in with a new one.

Lucy In Her Christmas Dresses

We had some pictures of Lucy taken in her Christmas dresses, two Grandmas means two Christmas dresses. My cousin Amy took them that's why her copyright is on all the pictures, but I thought I'd post them anyway since they are so cute.

Red dress with red bow, she even gave us a little smile.
Here she is in her black and white dress, the red back ground looks great here
This one was hard to do since she hates hats and usually

pulls them right off. Lots of red here.

She had a goot time taking this picture, those are my feet and hands
Here's Lucy with her cousin Britian, my brother Tylers boy. They are about 4 months appart, he did not enjoy this experience at all. Thats Tyler and I holding them up

Here's Tyler with his wife Brooke and they're little boy Britian.

Britian also had to have a wardrob change.

Wildcats Win!

I always enjoy beating an in-state rival, especially since Weber State doesn't do it very often. But the Wildcats managed to beat the Aggies this year.

In the end, the Wildcats not only triumphed inside the post, but WSU also kept better control of the ball and eventually the game, handing USU a 78-71 loss in the Dee Events Center before 7,797 spectators. Utah State owned a 54-47 lead midway through the second half, but only converted four baskets the rest of the way.

The Aggies also turned the ball over 23 times and Weber State also shot 16 more free throws. Much of Weber State's second-half offense came from inside where Steve Panos and Arturas Valeika combined for 28 points. Valeika also pulled down 12 rebounds. The Wildcats helped themselves on the glass with 14 offensive rebounds.

Brain Tumor Update

At the beginning of the month, Lariann had an MRI and a visit with her doctor at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. The tumor appears to still be shrinking, however there are a couple of cysts that seem to be getting bigger. A cyst is an abnormal sac in the body, filled with a fluid or semisolid and enclosed in a membrane. So it's not cancerous. She will be going be in 2 months for another MRI, they are going to keep an eye on the cysts and hopefully the chemotherapy will shrink them. So Lariann will continue to do chemotherapy at the beginning of each month in a pill form that she takes for 5 days. She just finished another round last night and feels tired and a little sick, but other wise okay. Thank you to all of you for your thoughts and prayers. It means a lot to us and sure has helped us get through this trial. (The tumor pictured is not Lariann's, just some random one I found online)

Creative Consultant

I'd like to welcome Dave Barton to my blog. Here he is pictured on the left with his lovely wife Kristen. He is responsible for making things look good. He got a degree in graphic design from USU. He now works for Salt City Candle Company designing packaging and catalogs, but apparently has enough free time at work to make my blog look good. Here is his blog: davekristen.blogspot.com

Changes on the Ambulance

As of Tuesday November 6th at 0830 my partner of 7 months at SouthWest Ambulance, Curtis Watkins, is no longer my partner. He will be moving to greener pastures with less hobos up in the Sugar House area on SouthWest 3.

We've had some great times together with some memorable calls. I'll never forget the man who fell about 70 feet while cleaning windows and broke both his legs but managed to live, in part I think because of our efforts. Or the female escort who showed us her boobs one wet night on a car crash out on the freeway, because she was drunk and thought if she did so we would drop her off at a bus stop and not take her to the hospital where UHP was waiting to arrest her. I'm sure we've made about a hundred trips to the homeless shelter together, and we each hated every minute of it.

These pictures are from a couple of calls we went on. Above is a car crash on the freeway, he didn't survive unfortunately. To the right is an auto vs. pedestrian. Amazingly, he did survive.

Lagoon's Frightmares

Here are some great shots from Frightmares at Lagoon featuring myself, my sister Alison, and our favorite co-worker Cole Brock. Frightmares is truly our favorite time of the year as you can probably tell. This is the first year we drank directly from the ICEE machine. You might want to avoid getting those at the Funhouse food stand if you're there.

Lucy's First Halloween

Lucy as Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh with her Trick-or-Treat bag and first Jack-O-Lantern. I was excited to take her trick or treating because she's really cute, but mostly so I could eat her candy.

Welcome to Totally Scott.
