Once again I'm looking to you my loyal readers to give me your opinion on which picture should hang on my living room wall. Please vote for one and let me know why you chose that one.

Full Throttle

There are a lot of energy drinks out there, Rock Star, Monster, Red Bull, Amp but I have a favorite of my own I'd like to tell you about. (As you can see I'm having trouble coming up with material for this blog)
A few years ago while working for Southwest Ambulance in SLC one of my partners and I discovered an energy drink called Full Throttle. I don't drink a lot of energy drinks but I started keeping one or two in our station fridge and when it seemed like we were having a long night I would crack one open and guzzle it to help get me through the night.
I thought my full throttle days were behind me when I started work for church security, since I work the graveyard shift I've found my self using a full throttle every now and then to help get through the night.
There are several kinds of full throttle I tend to go with red, orange or blue, they are my favorites. They taste like smarties ground up into liquid form.

I would stay away from green and black (though it's yellow when you pour it out of the can) I find their tastes to be less then desirable.

It even comes in Slurpee form, if you can find it. I once drove to four seven eleven convenience stores to find one, which was not very convenient for me.

I've done some experimenting with full throttle, we took some vanilla ice cream and combined it with the blue full throttle to make a full throttle float. Now I know what you all are thinking about this and let me just warn you it's not as good as you would think. Trust me.
I'm sure this lack of sleep and supplementing that lack with these energy drinks is just taking years off my life, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do to survive.
So if the full throttle people are reading this, thank you for helping keep my up at nights.

New Family Picture

The votes are in for the new family picture that will grace my living room wall. I agree with the popular vote and decided to go with Lucy on my shoulders. I decided to go with the color version. I wanted to make sure our Denver Broncos colors showed. I liked the black and white version and if it weren't for the Broncos shirts might have gone with it instead. Thanks to all who voted and gave their opinions and comments.

Family Pictures

I recently had my cousin Amy take some photos of Lucy and I while we were up at my uncles in Wyoming. I thought I would get one of us to hang prominently in the living room. Now I am trying to decide which one to get. So I've decided to get the opinion of the masses and my masses I mean the dozen or so people who actually read my blog. So I set up a pole to go with it. Just because a certain picture gets a lot of votes doesn't mean I am not necessarily going to go with that picture, I reserve the right to make the final decision, mostly because I'm going to be paying for it. Feel free to leave a comment about the picture you chose. They all come in either black & white or color, so if you have preference to that let me know.
Amy does great work, if any one would like to hire her you can find her at www.amynielson.com there's a plug for your business Amy, now I don't feel as bad about posting your pictures on my blog.

Lariann

Lariann's tombstone was installed this last week in the Kaysville cemetery.
My sister in law Rachel took some pictures of Lariann's tombstone that I thought I would share.

Ransom

There used to be a Denver Broncos flag flying out in front of my house, not unlike the one pictured here. I say, "used to" because I came home from work last Thursday morning at about 7:30 am to find that the flag was not flying any more and the pole it was attached to was also missing.
I did a check of the front yard and surrounding area but my search did not turn my missing flag. I checked with the neighbors and nobody saw it or had seen one similar to mine no hanging on a house some where else in the neighborhood. Total loss counting the flag and pole was around $50, not enough to worry calling Layon PD over to investigate.
I was going to chalk it up to unruly teens or raiders fans, since they're all criminals anyway committing a crime like this wouldn't be a stretch.
To my surprise I came home Sunday evening after dinner at my parents to find a message on my home answering machine. It was a woman's voice with a man in the back ground coaching her a little. She stated she had my flag and was holding it ransom for a plate of cookies and that if I were to call her we could set up an exchange. There were a couple of problems with this, she didn't leave a name or number, I can't bake cookies and I want to murder who ever took it, which I assume is this woman and I also assume that she is a raiders fan and I don't like negotiating with terrorists.
I suppose until I get another phone call with some kind of contact information this mystery will remain unsolved and I will continue to hate the raiders, which I was going to do anyway.

Halloween 2009

Lucy had a lot of fun this October with Halloween. We did a lot of fun things and got plenty of candy.

We made it out to Firghtmares at Lagoon for one last time this year, we went on a night when Aunt Alison was working so we could see her to. Lucy had a great time riding rides, going to the kids spook alley and watching the "Monster Mash" show. She even got to have her picture taken with the cast which she thought was great. Funny story about this. Lucy and I were standing there watching the show when one of my supervisors spotted me and came up to me and started talking with us. He asked how I liked the show and I made some joke about wanting Catwomans number. He then went up to her and the rest of the female cast asked them if they were interested in going out with me. They were all under 20 so a little young for me, but I was thoroughly embarrassed by the whole thing.

Lucy did pumpkin carving with myself, Grandpa and Aunt Alison

Of course we also went Trick-or-Treating. Lucy went as a skeleton. We stayed out in the neighborhood for over an hour. Her bucket got to heavy for her to carry so she had me carry it. This idea that the whole neighborhood is handing out candy was wonderful to her, I like it to since I go through I pick out what I want from her stash. She liked it so much she asked the next night if we could go Trick-or-Treating

Baseball 2009

Well its the end of October which also means we are nearing the end of the baseball season. It was a pretty good season for me, the Cardinals won the National League Central Division, but then went and got swept in the first round by the dodgers, disappointing? Yes, but it could be worse, I could be fan of the Nationals.

What really made this season great was that I went to four games in three different cities and got to see St. Louis play twice. I didn't take Lucy to any of these games, I don't know that she's ready to go to a baseball game yet, mostly because I think she would get bored fast and I would end up entertaining her most the game instead of watching it. I did however get her shirts from the games. So here she is showing off her MLB pride.

The Kansas City Royals

The San Diego Padres

The Colorado Rockies

The Saint Louis Cardinals

I am also picking the Philadelphia Phillies to win the World Series in six games. I like to root for the National League, unless it's the cubs, but that shouldn't be a problem they haven't won a World Series title in over 100 years.

Wyoming

Lucy and I went up to Wyoming last weekend for my cousin Sadie's mission farewell. She's going to the same mission I did, Columbia, SC. What are the odds two people from the same family would go to the same mission, of course I was there about 10 years ago but how much could have changed in that time.

I think Lucy enjoyed this trip more than any other we've been on in the last 2 months. There was dirt, sticks, dogs, rivers everything a two year old could ask for. My cousin Abby was even nice enough to take Lucy on a long horse ride around the coral, not sure exactly how many laps they made. She even went out and lent a hand putting fence posts in.

We had a great time up there and it was really good to see my cousins, aunts and uncles again.

Denver

We went to Denver CO last weekend to visit my Aunts family. My Dad, Lucy and my self traveled out across the open frontier. We had a good time and did a lot of fun things, baseball games, golf, eagle court of honors and museum's to name a few.

We took Lucy to the living faram in Littleton. Lucy saw all kinds of barn yard animals and other farm stuff.

Here's Lucy playing in the farm kitchen.

My Aunt Nancy, Lucy and I with the sheep.

And us with the pig, probably Lucy's favorite animal there.

She got to climb on some of the farm equipment.

I spoke at my cousin Tolans eagle court of honor. Which was the other reason for going to Denver, not just that the Cardinals were in town to play the Rockies.

Tolan and I in the stands. Our seats were way up at the top, but it was still a good game.

The Cardinals clinched the NL Central Division that night, it was great, I was so excited to be there for it, maybe not as excited as the St. Louis players were but pretty close.
